Dominic is a fulltime math teacher living and working in Oakland. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, he tutored with Pleasanton Tutoring for two years before beginning his career as a classroom teacher in 2013. Dominic has taught 10th-12th grade math (including Geometry, Algebra 2, and AP® Calculus AB), as well as Physics. He loves to help students grasp the underlying concepts in math so as to feel confident tackling unfamiliar problems. He also strives to push his students to explain their reasoning whenever possible, with the belief that through such explanation one internalizes the material more thoroughly. When Dominic is not teaching or tutoring, he is raising his beautiful daughters (Lucy, Katya, with Rosemarie on the way this summer!), doing math problems for fun with his wife, playing guitar, or adding to his large collection of music.
